Hello, I am Dunja.
Pronounced as Doonia, my name means ‘The World’ in several languages. It therefore might not be a surprise my colorful and vibrant designs breath an exotic and nomadic spirit, longing for undiscovered grounds, finding a sense of belonging.
Why I started
As an art historian I’ve always loved to travel and find inspiration in unfamiliar places.
While travelling through India and Indonesia a few years ago I rediscovered my love for Asian textiles and exuberant historical prints. Having a family history stretching all the way from Holland to Indonesia, Sri Lanka and back, I remembered colorful fabrics full of symbolism have always been part of my family member’s interiors.
It felt as if they were now calling to my creative soul.
What I do
I design patterns for wallpaper and other beautiful products you can use in your home. I also create creative concepts for interior and creative businesses, and of course my patterns are available for licensing.
